Introduction
Have you ever had a dream that shifted your entire understanding of life and faith? I did.
In this dream, I found myself standing in what I can only describe as the courtroom of God, where His love, holiness, and judgment came together in a way I had never imagined.
It was an experience that changed how I see my faith and my relationship with others. Here’s what happened.
The Dream and the Courtroom
In the dream, I stood in line, waiting for my turn in front of God's throne. It was a solemn scene, but not one of terror—more like standing in the presence of overwhelming peace and purity. As each person stepped forward, God, seated on His throne, addressed them.
What struck me most was not just what He said, but how He said it. His voice was full of love, calmness, and humility, even though He was judging people for their lives on earth. There was no anger, no harshness—just a profound sense of righteousness and care.
God would ask questions that went straight to the heart: "Why were you so unforgiving?" or "Why was your heart so hardened?" Each time He spoke, there was an immediate understanding that went beyond just knowing what was right or wrong.
The people instantly saw how their hearts had strayed from God’s ways. But what shocked me the most was that He wasn’t asking about the works they had done—the crusades, the ministries, or the missions. Instead, He was focused on their hearts.
God’s Holiness and Heart Matters
Standing there, it dawned on me that all the things we often pride ourselves on—our works, our acts of service, our outward displays of faith—weren’t what God was looking at.
He wasn’t interested in the number of revival meetings or street evangelism I had done. Instead, He was asking people about their love, forgiveness, and purity of heart.
I began to question my standing before God. I had thought that my efforts in church and ministry would count for something, but now I realized that it wasn’t enough. God was more concerned with the intentions behind those efforts and the condition of my heart.
The Revelation about Forgiveness
This realization hit me hard. At the time I had this dream, I was struggling with unforgiveness. I had been deeply hurt by others, and I felt justified in holding on to that bitterness because I believed I was in the right.
But in that moment, standing in line for judgment, I saw things differently. God’s standard is unwavering: He calls us to forgive, no matter how justified we feel in our pain.
I began to understand that God’s justice is not based on our feelings or circumstances. His love and His holiness remain constant, even when we feel wronged. He will not lower His standards because we have been hurt.
Our inability to forgive is not excused simply because we feel justified. The state of our hearts is what truly matters to Him.
The Power of Sincere Prayer
As I stood there, the Holy Spirit began to remind me of moments in my life where I had sincerely prayed for heart transformation.
I saw myself in my room, crying out to God, not for material things, but for the ability to forgive, to let go of past hurts, and to love as He loves. I remembered all the times I had begged Him to soften my heart and take away the bitterness.
Even though I hadn’t yet become everything I had prayed for, the Holy Spirit reminded me that those prayers were not in vain. God had heard them, and He valued the desire of my heart to be more like Him.
At that moment, I realized that it was my sincerity and the posture of my heart that mattered most.
What God is Truly Seeking
This dream taught me a powerful lesson: God is seeking hearts that are fully submitted to Him. Our works, no matter how grand, are secondary to the state of our hearts.
He desires people who will live by His value system—people who will love, forgive, and walk in humility no matter what challenges they face.
His desire for humanity has not changed. From the beginning, He created us to reflect His image, and that image is one of love, peace, and holiness. Our acts of service are important, but only when they flow from a heart that is right with God.
Key Takeaway
In the end, this dream showed me that God’s judgment is not about how much we do, but about who we are in Him.
Our hearts, not our works, are what He cares about the most. Forgiveness, love, and humility are the things that will matter when we stand before Him.
Conclusion and Call to Action
Where do you stand today?
Are you holding onto unforgiveness or bitterness, feeling justified in your pain?
Remember, God’s standards don’t change based on how we feel.
Take a moment to reflect and ask yourself if your heart is truly aligned with His. Pray for the strength to forgive, to let go, and to love again.
After all, it’s the state of our hearts that will ultimately determine our place with Him.
